HSE superintendent at Burgan Well Drilling ( BWD – Kuwait )                 [ 10/2013 – Now ]  

  • Work closely with Operational Divisions providing support to build HSE awareness at the field level.

  • Communicate with assigned Safety Officers in matters involving HSE concerns.

  • Consult advice and direct the Operational group in matters relating to HSE Management.

  • Liaison with Operators and Client Representatives relating to HSE matters.

  • Participate in Regulatory/Client Audits and lead Internal QHSE Audits.

  • Ensuring that each rig under their responsibility complies with the Burgan Rig System requirements.

  • Participate in incident investigations.

  • Co-ordinate and assist in the tracking and closure of Client Inspections and Audits and reporting updates to the Operations Manager responsible for closure of the items.

  • Ensuring that the implementation of the Burgan HSE Management System, Operational Procedure Manual and the rig specific JSA Files are effective.

  • Communicate with the Safety Officers under their responsibility daily.

  • Participate in the Leadership Visit Program and support Senior Management by completing documents and reports summarizing the findings during Leadership Visits for submitting a formal report to the Client and rig Supervisors.

  • Co-ordinate and participate in the continuous auditing of HSE Management Systems.

  • Co-ordinate and actively participate in HSE Department Field Activities, maintaining a focus to overall company objectives and consistency through HSE Management.

  • Act as HSE resource to Burgan Field and Operational employees.

  • Co-ordinate and assist HSE activities for newly built and re-furbished rigs during the commissioning process as assigned by HSE Manager.

  • Investigate industrial accidents, injuries, or occupational diseases to determine causes and preventive measures.

  • Deliver safety Induction training

  • Monitor and strict compliance of "Permit to Work" system at worksite & explain the importance of the same to the workforce (ex: man riding work permit).

  • Coordinate with execution team and preparing job safety analysis and Risk Assessments.

  • Arranging inspection and certification of Equipment and Tools in the work shop area and cross inspection for the same.

  • Preparing Daily, Weekly and Monthly project reports.
